The Only Certainty is Uncertainty
Publication, Graphic design
A publication narrating and linking together my projects and the process of my first year of university
Languages of Digital, Print, Context, Image, and Typography have enabled me to express my emotions and personal struggles throughout the year.
In periods of growth, I have often felt disoriented, scared, overwhelmed, and worthless. These complications arose at times from my graphic designing journey and at others from personal obstacles. This publication is a showcase of the skills I have learned throughout these five processes. My journey started with Digital which out of all projects was most challenging, given that I had no previous experience or knowledge with coding. I knew that It was only the experience of these three weeks that I was going to take away with me, rather than further developing my project. Print explored personal nostalgia, seeking for answers in the past, particularly relating to historical events relative to my background. Similarly, my Image Booklet aims to evoke feelings of agitation, misplacement and discomfort. Context and Type however portrayed my growth as a graphic designer, as it taught me essential skills to communicate with an audience, such as the power of words, the relationship between images and text, and the vitality of strong layouts.
