Break off Strangers

What it means to be a stranger or a friend is getting more complex. Living in cities has made strangers into a multitude: We brush past thousands of them every day.   Interrupting the daily expected narratives of each other’s lives to form these unexpected connections enables us to learn from each other by exchanging knowledge and experiences as well as feel that our existence in this enormous fast paced world makes a difference.

How can we break down the social construct of being strangers?  The series of zines I created were distributed to individuals on the tube, allowing them to reflect about their seclusion on their journeys. The distribution of the zines allowed me to engage in powerful discussions as well as to completely re-construct the initial meaning of the underground and applying a greater two-folded meaning to it.
